Unique Section of the Great Wall Draws in Visitors

As people all know what the Great Wall looks like but did you know that some of it is built over water? The Jiumenkou section of the wall in Liaoning province in Northeast China is famous for just that.
The Jiumenkou section of the Great Wall used to function as a defensive frontline against nomadictribes. Built more than 1,500 years ago, it has undergone multiple renovations in prime example of a defensive fortification. Today, the site is drawing in tourists from around the world because of its unique location over water.

Li Lulu, Jiumenkou Great Wall, said, "We have a teaCm of tour-guides fluent in English to provide in-depth introductions to visitors from around the world."
The site has been recognized by UNESCO as an Cultural World Heritage site. Another site in the area of similar stature is the "Three Mausoleums of Shengjing", also in Liaoning province. The site includes the tomb of the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty and tombs dedicated to his ancestors.
Tang Wei, Deputy Managing Director, Eastern Mausoleum, said, "We made some renovations to the walls of the mausoleum and we have also set in place new measures to protect the site, like limiting the number of tourists and providing proper directions."
The Qing dynasty was established by the nomadic Manchu people living in Northern China, and the legacies here exemplify the clash and merging of Manchu culture with the Han civilization for all to see.

The Imperial City Art Museum

The ancient Imperial City of Beijing was initially built in early Ming Dynasty.
Inside the Imperial City there were: all the city departments, palaces, temples, warehouses and gardens. The defense and service functions were perfect in the city. The Tian An Men gate tower, Beihai Park, Jingshan Hill, Imperial Ancestral Temple (now the Working People's Cultural Palace), Altar to the God of the Land and Grain (now the Zhongshan Park) and the Pudu Temple were all situated inside the Imperial City.
When the Imperial City of Beijing applied for the World Cultural Heritage status, the Beijing Imperial City Art Museum was opened on June, 2003 in Changpu River Park. The central hall of the museum contains a scale model of the ancient
The Imperial City Art Museum
Imperial City based on the Beijing City Panorama of 1750 and provides an amazing insight to the appearance of the early core of Beijing. Side halls further develop the vision with artifacts such as: the imperial curtains, candles, lanterns, playbills, and the jade treasures and tributes to the emperor. The basement of the museum hosts temporary exhibitions on a variety of subjects such as one exhibition from the Czech Delegation that provided free glasses of Pilsner Lager.
Further along, are the copper sculptures and armors of the guards. Hanging here are the exquisite official costumes of the era and the written records of the 300-year-old history of the Ming Dynasty are located here. Interesting items such as those related to pigeon culture are also displayed.
The Changpu River Park follows the course of the Outer Golden River that originates from the Xiyuan Zhonghai Lake and flows eastwards into the Yuhe River along the south wall of the Imperial City in front of Tian'anmen Gate (it acted as a moat in ancient times). Following the Communist Revolution this was covered over with warehouses to store the stands and decorations for the massive National Day celebrations. Later, the authorities removed these warehouses and in 2003 established a tiny 2,500 m. area of greenery as an historical and ecological oasis in the rapidly developing city.
A long path winds through the narrow park beneath the great swathes of green foliage and zigzags across the river over ornate stone bridges. Curious buildings and pagodas dot the path at irregular intervals and one of the old courtyard buildings that has survived the developments that have swept the city in recent decades is hidden away here and is now home to the Imperial City Art Gallery (open daily 9:00-16:00). The ornate building rises up from the park's rich foliage and is itself a thing of beauty which contains numerous treasures and offers a fascinating glance into the history of Beijing.

Duyichu Shaomai

The restaurant was a small hut when it was set up in 1738 (the 3rd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty) by a man named Li from Shanxi Province. In the 7th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign or 1742, a small building was built to sell boiled peanuts, sugared date, aired meat and so on.
Duyichu Shaomai
In the 17th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, it became famous because of the name Duyichu and the Tiger Head Plaque granted by the emperor. During Emperor Tongzhi's reign, the restaurant added in his menu Steamed Dumpling which had thin coat, rich stuffing and tasted delicious. During the war against Japanese, it survived from closing down and suffered poor business until its rebirth when Beijing was liberated. After the Joint Public-Private Ownership reform, the restaurant moved from the south of Xianyukou to the north of it into a large building with 200 square meters in business space. Nowadays it is capable to receive two or three thousand person times per day. The Tiger Head Plaque inscribed by Emperor Qianlong is hanging in the center of the hall reads Duyichu, and another plaque inscribed by Guo Moruo is hanging in the entrance.
Featured foods: Steamed Dumpling of Three Fresh Delicacies, Fried Triangle Rolls, Steamed Dumpling, Qianlong Cabbage, Fried Round Mass of Food.

Visit Nanluogu Xiang Taste Chinese Culture

Nanluogu Xiang, located to the north of the Forbidden City and the east of the axis of Beijing, was built at the same time with the Yuandadu (the Capital of the Yuan Dynasty) and so far has a history of about 800 years. The south end of the Nanluogu Xiang is Di'anmen Dongdajie, while its north end the Gulou Dongdajie (Drum Tower East Street). The lane measures 786 meters in length. It was not wide and the sub-lanes along with the lane were in pairs and facing each other, which still maintain the layout of streets and lanes in the Yuan Dynasty.
Visit Nanluogu Xiang Taste Chinese Culture
Nanluogu Xiang maintains the layout of typical buildings of the Yuan Dynasty, and so, it is called a living fossil of the city buildings of Yuandadu. There are a large number of cultural and historical relics, residences of celebrities, and is, therefore, one of the areas for protecting the old city's images and looks of Beijing City and the buffer area for the Conservation of the old Imperial City. At present, there are 28 units of protection of cultural relics at the national, municipal and district levels, including Keyuan Garden, residence of Wan Rong (the queen of the last Emperor Puyi), residence of Sengge Rinchen, residences of Rong Lu, Hong Chengchou, Kui Jun, etc. Each lane, yard and even a brick or tile are stamped with the signs of history.
Strolling leisurely along every lane of Nanluogu Xiang or gently opening old gates, you can still feel the traces of old Beijingers' life. The difference is that the people's life has changed and been added with more tints of the times. Private cars are parking along the quiet and long lanes. Neon lamp boxes show their shining signs of "Internet surfing". Pedicabs carrying domestic and foreign tourists pass ringing through the lanes. People with different complexions from different countries walk leisurely into pubs and coffee houses in the lanes, which have a heavy accumulation of traditional culture to taste refined hutong culture. All these have contributed to the building of a bar street with the unique Beijing Hutong Culture, and thus shown a beautiful scenery in Nanluogu Xiang with the integration of the oriental and occidental cultures.

Today I Will Tell You The No. 1 Waterfall in Beijing

The No. 1 Waterfall in Beijing is located in the Miyun County in Beijing's suburb. Five big characters of  "The No. 1 Waterfall in Beijing" are engraved on the cliff on the left of the Waterfall, which is 62.5m high, 28m higher than "the Waterfall to the Heaven" close to it in the Heilong Pond. The Waterfall Waterfalls throughout the year and its flow rate is about half a cubic meter even in the dry seasons of winter and spring.
Waterfall in Beijing
The source of the Waterfall is the Liu River, which originates from the Yunmeng Mountain in the Huairou County, converges all mountain springs and creeks in the course of flowing along the east foot of the Yunmeng Mountain and washes out and creates a series of natural sights along the way, for example the "Connected Six Ponds", the "Jade-Splashing Waterfall", the "Waterfall Hung in the Air" and the "Nostalgic Pond", which are all the "masterpieces" of the Liu River. The No. 1 Waterfall in Beijing is the last sight of the Liu River before it merges into the Bai River. The dark green and transparent pond water is smashed by the Waterfall like flying pearls and splashed jades and looks like flying dragons and tigers from nearby and fog and smoke from afar. When the sunlight shines into the valley, it presents a ring of light in seven colors, a rainbow on the earth. The roar of water echoes in the vacant valley and the powerful and majestic momentum of the Waterfall has people linger on.
The "Blue Dragon Pond", the name of a pond under the "First Waterfall in Beijing", is 8 m in the deepest. After it's filled to the full, water runs on and into the Bai River, which is one of the water supply sources of the Miyun Reservoir.
High peaks in the scenic spot pierce directly into the sky like huge swords and show different attitudes vividly. The scenic spot is 3 km in length and the drop in elevation is 200 m. Scenes change and different colors are presented when you move and unique ponds connected with each other seem masterpieces of superlative craftsmanship. All tourists hate to leave when they come here.

Best China Tours from Beijing to Xian Flight Tour

I have been to Beijing five times and have already visited the representative attractions like the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, etc. This time is a family journey and we decided to join the China group tour from Beijing to Xian at first.

Arrived at Beijing in the late afternoon, after dropping our luggage to the hotel we cannot wait to start our trip in Beijing. We went to the famous Longfusi Snack Street to enjoy the typical Beijing food. Various kinds of snacks! There are authentic Douzhi, focus ring, Luzhu, as well as all kinds of skewers here and there are also some typical Muslim restaurants. The taste of Douzhi is terrible! It smells terrible and just a small spoon I found it hard to drink. The cakes there is very delicious and all of them with very cheap prices.

Terra Cotta Warriors

In the early morning we were picked up from our hotel and transferred to the airport. After one and an half hours we got to Xian – another ancient capital city of ancient China. During the one day tour we visited the famous Terra Cotta Warriors and Ancient City Wall.

The Terra Cotta Warriors is the eight world wonders and it deserves the fame. In a vault of approximately 12,000 square meters and 5m underground lay some 8,000 terracotta infantry soldiers, archers, cavalrymen and chariots arranged in battle formation, ready to defend their emperor's immortal soul. The Terra Cotta Warriors show a high level of artistry with individualized facial expressions, hairstyles and clothing and were once brightly painted with black armor, colorful red scarves and green pants. As well as seeing, the tour guide explained to us the history and the story about Qin Dynasty.

After lunch we arrived at the ancient city wall of Xian. The tour guide told us that it is the most complete city wall survived in China as well as one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Around the old wall, there are jutting ramparts, sentry towers, corner towers, gate towers, battlements, and a series of city defensive fortifications that were scientifically and compactly laid out with very strong defense capability.

Then we took the late afternoon fight back to Beijing. Xian is a beautiful city and I wish I could stay there for a few days to travel around. This Vactaion from beijing to Xian have a Wonderful China tour from Beijing , Because i am a business trip haven't to leave here quickly. So regretful , i want to travel around China . Next trip !

My Village Tour in Beijing

This is my second time to Beijing and I love this city very much because it perfectly combined the traditional atmosphere with modern prosperity. The first impression did make a great influence to people. So this time I choose beijinglandscapes again. Since I have already visited the famous Beijing attractions such as the Great Wall and the Forbidden, and I am very interested in the countryside of China, thus I booked the Beijing Hancunhe Modern Village Day Tour online. And I really have a wonderful time today.

Hancunhe Village

At 8:00 am, the English speaking tour guide picked me up at my hotel and started the trip to Hancunhe Village. About more than one hour later, we got to the destination. To my surprise, the village is very beautiful and comfortable. Trees are planted everywhere, all the villagers' villa-type houses in both traditional Chinese and European architectural style. Built in the suburbs of Beijing, Hancunhe Village has all kinds of rich resources. The culture, education, science and technology, health and other infrastructure and social services system are complete in the village.
During the tour to the development museum, I learnt more about the village's history and its development. Once a poor village, since the implementing of reform and opening-up policy, Hancunhe has now become one of the nation's model villages. Although not very large, all the villagers here live happily. Once entered the village, I fell in love it. The fresh air and the green trees make me feel very comfortable and away from the boisterous city atmosphere.
Today my favorite part is visiting a local family. The house is not big but very clean and tidy. I chat with the hostess. She is very friendly and enthusiastic and brought out a lot of fresh fruit for me to eat.
Already 5:00 pm now and I my tour is end. The kindly tour guide dropped me off at my hotel and say goodbye. I feel very satisfied with this trip because I get a very different feeling this time. Thank you again to Beijinglandscapes!

Impressive 4 Days Tour in Beijing

Just 4 days, my family and I visited most attractions of Beijing such as the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, etc. Among these, I was addicted into the Ming Tombs, and it was my first time to visit the real Chinese tomb and coffin. No matter what you think of me, I was the lover of books about robbing tomb. Of course, I always want to enter the real tomb to enjoy their inner structure before this Beijing tour package.

Sacred Road in Ming Tombs

It was the third travel day and after we visited the Badaling Great Wall, we went to the Ming Tombs. It is said that it is the group of tombs for 13 emperors in Ming Dynasty, and their wives. Maybe a little brutal, their wives must be buried with the dead emperors. Before entering the Ming Tombs, we passed a long road – Sacred Road, which is the direct way to Changling, and it is the first spot in Ming Tombs. Other Sacred Road to tombs are all the branches of this Sacred Road. The constructions at the sides of Sacred Road symbolize the contributions of emperors when they alive. The stone statues are seemed like the protectors of these tombs.

Underground Palace in Ming Tombs

There was only one tomb allow tourists to visit the underground palace, it is the Dingling. It is a long stairs to get into this mysterious underground palace, and it is the most important attraction in my life. Such a hot day, but the palace was very cool, full of gloomy, let me feel every pore was opened by the cool air. As emperors, they built their tombs as glory as possible. The construction structure was imitated the real palace including tunnel, front chamber, middle chamber, left chamber, right chamber and rear chamber. Everyone here all visit it with strong curiosities. In fact, when the tomb was discovered by people, their damage covered every corner. What we enjoyed the small part, and the most parts was destroyed when it was opened to people.

I still have a wonderful tour in Beijing. Thank you who offers us best service and unbeatable price.
